LAD #8-Monroe Doctrine

The Monroe Doctrine was an announcement to Europe, essentially that they were no longer allowed to colonize or claim territory in America. It explains that America is enforcing a foreign policy that will keep the Europeans out because America can not succeed with foreign countries holding power in their nation. This document also states that America wishes to stay out of foreign affairs because all they due is cause conflicts and tangled relations that America wishes to avoid. America had adopted a new foreign policy that was strict and would severly limit the contacts that America had with outside nations and getting involved in their disputes as stated in the Monroe Doctrine. Finally any attempt that any outside nation makes to try and colonize in America will be viewed as an dealt as such. The Monroe Doctrine was an announcement to the world that America was growing up into an independent nation and was a foreign policy that was isolating American from the rest of the world.
